Allusion is a digital voice generator designed for the modern world. This is not meant to replace a Walker-type product, nor is it designed to make a full digital organ. Allusion is a feature rich digital tone generation solution where 32’ pedal extensions and percussions are called for.

What Allusion 1.0 Can Do

  • Wind Model (sag, jitter, flex and flux)

  • Tremolo Model (affects tone and pitch via wind model)

  • Note By Note Voicing (volume, timbre, tuning)

  • Digital Rescaling

  • Per Channel PEQ

  • Expression Emulation (doppler + brightness)

  • A/B voicing system

What Allusion 1.0 Can’t Do

  • Full Divisions

  • Full Choruses

  • Realistic Chamber Audio Modeling

  • Pipe Interaction Modeling

  • Audio Interaction within the DSP realm (how real pipes mix)

  • Multi-Pass Crossover (bass and treble crossover only)

  • True in depth voicing to match a sample to existing manual ranks

How To Get Realistic Digital Voices (full manual stops, precision tuning, precision voicing)

What Is Allusion?

Allusion is a software program that runs on Linux (specifically Debian v13). When launched, it creates a software generator for each emulated note, and binds it to an Opus-Two eFrame bit. It advertises itself as an Opus-Two chamber, and gets serviced as if it were one.

How is the voicing accomplished?

OpusAssistant has a built in voicing utility that allows the installer/builder to do the following:

  • Upload sample files

  • Choose which sample from a given rank is used for a particular note

  • Choose from sampled open envelope or a generated open envelope

  • Choose from sampled release tail or a generated release tail

  • Adjust timbre per note

  • Adjust how much each note is affected by its tremulant

  • Choose which chamber temperature sensor to bind AutoTuning

  • Adjust volume per note

  • Create “audio chambers” determining which speakers can be used to play sounds from a given division

What are the technical details?

Samples:

  • ASF format (a clone of the wrf file format). Each file/package contains:

    • Waveforms of all samples

    • The loop data & envelope data

    • Mapping of which samples are used on which notes

  • Per Box Ranks - Unlimited

  • Per Box Polyphony - 100 active generators (user may not define priority - first come first serve)

  • Currently only compatible with Opus-Two or any control system capable of generating PipeBus eFrames

  • 96k sample rate

  • 24 bit processing depth

  • USB Audio Device support (up to 8 channels across 3 USB audio devices)
