Field Service Engineer
A field service engineer is a contracted position where a technician must do whatever it takes to correct a problem. This could involve hardware modifications, software modifications, compiler modifications, or rewiring client wiring. A field service engineer is paid per day per problem. Because this is a contract position, we encourage FSE’s to work with other firms, organ builders, and anywhere else they can seek support. We ask for punctuality with the client, but do not regulate the length of the work day or how the work is completed.
Field Service Assistant
A field service assistant works with a field service engineer. FSAs often will load tools, carry things, organize documentation and paperwork, assist with billing, and test products. Opus-Two FSAs are generally shared amongst multiple FSEs. FSA contracts are typically 30 days, but can be extended based upon performance. A typical FSA will:
-Work Flexible Hours
-Have a valid drivers license
-Have some comprehension of music or music theory
-Understand basic electronic concepts (ohms law, faradays law)
-Be willing to travel
